Women’s Round-Up

Last Monday saw Shelburne remain top of Tier Two when they travelled to Wexford Bohs and came away 4-3 winners. Denise Leniston, Holly Hynes and Robyn Murphy were on target  for Bohs while two goals each from Katie Murphy and Eimear Murphy gave Shelburne victory. On the same night Aughrim travelled to Moyne Rangers and came away 3-1 winners with goals from Jade Shannon, Abigail Whitney and Eimear O Brien with Katie Bates on target for Moyne. Friday night saw a young Kilkenny side travel to high flying Forth Celtic and go down 12-0 to a side who are on the verge of wrapping up this summer competition. Chloe Connolly scored a hat trick for Celtic while Sarah Siggins, Rianna Cullen and Saoirse O Brien all scored two while Natasha Byrne Rossiter, Nikki Dunphy and Rachel Scannell contributed with a goal each.

On Sunday morning Shelburne entertained a young Moyne side and ran out comfortable 7-0 winners to secure the Tier Two Summer league title. Eimear Murphy continued her good scoring form with a hat trick while Katie Murphy, Kelly O Rourke, Niamh Kehoe and Kate O Keefe all chipped in with a goal each

Sunday afternoon, Corach kept in touch with the leaders when they travelled to Watershed in Kilkenny and beat the home side 6-0. Ashling Waters scored two goals with Niamh Miller, Niamh Tormey, Amy Eustace and Emma Clarke all adding a goal each. Corach now play away to Forth Celtic next Sunday and need a win to force this division to a play-off
