Women’s Senior Inter League Friendly
Peamount United U 17s 5 Wexford Women’s League 2
Wexford Women’s Inter League squad travelled to Dublin Friday night and took on a very experienced Peamount United Under 17 squad in difficult conditions. The first few exchanges were equally shared until the home side broke the deadlock early on with a well taken goal just six minutes in. A second and a third were added at the half hour mark as the Wexford side struggled to find their feet and also incurred a couple of crucial injuries early on. The wexford side gathered themselves at half time but Peamount added a Fourth on the hour mark. Marian Cardiff pulled one back followed by the best goal of the game when Aleisha Cullen scored a long range effort with fifteen minutes remaining. It was the home side who rounded off the scoring with a late goal to secure a 5-2 win. All in all, a good run out for the Wexford side and they would like to wish the Peamount side the best of luck as they head to Las Vegas to play in the Mayor Cup
