Schoolgirls League Round-Up

Last Tuesday saw New Ross Town continue their good run at underage level when they travelled to Campile and came away 4-0 winners to record their second win at Under Twelve. It was a closer game than the scoreline suggests as it was 0-0 at the break but a Sarah O Leary hat trick and a goal from Libby Rossiter saw Town leave Campile with the points. In the other game in this group, Corach and Seaview played out an exciting 1-1 draw to keep both in with an outside chance of reaching the semi final of the league. A scoreless draw at home to Courtown moved Bridge Rovers a point clear at the top of group B in the Under Twelve section, a division that is shaping up to be very competitive. Curracloe moved second in the group when they travelled to Arklow and came away 2-0 winners.

Cushinstown were much too strong for Curracloe’s second team in the Under Fifteen running out comfortable 7-1 winners. Niamh White was on target for Curracloe but two goals each from Keelin Barron and Abbie Gaffney and a hat trick from Izzy Walsh gave Cushinstown victory. On Sunday Arklow and Coolboy played out a closely contested Under Fifteen game with Coolboy eventually edging out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Jessie Martin and Rachel Tighe with Hannah Fox on target for Arklow
