Schoolgirls Round-Up

New Ross Town booked their place in the quarter final of the Under Thirteen tournament when when goals from Hannah Carney and Sarah O Leary saw then defeat Corach Ramblers 2-0. Bridge Rovers and Moyne Rangers also have one foot in the last eight as they overcame Rosslare Rangers and Curracloe United respectively. Emma McEldowney scored five for Bridge as they overran a young Rosslare side with Paige Gainfort, Clodagh Byrne and Ciara Murphy also on target. Mekedes Hart scored a consolation goal for Rangers. Moyne travelled to Curracloe and came away 2-0 winners with Katie Whelan scoring both goals. Gorey Rangers are looking good for a quarter final place when they travelled to Aughrim and won 2-0 courtesy of goals from Fallon Shiel and Ruby Murdiff

At Under Seventeen level, Corach Ramblers travelled to New Ross Celtic and came away 1-0 winners with Sarah Murphy scoring the all important goals in a tight competitive encounter. A strong first half display from Curracloe saw them lead 3-0 at the break in Bunclody and eventually run out 4-1 winners in a much more competitive second half. Jade Conroy was on target for Bunclody while Emma Cullen, Abi Murphy and two goals from Cliona Kearney made up Curracloes tally.

On Sunday, Arklow Town travelled to Coolboy to play Under Thirteen and Under Seventeen and recorded two narrow victories to stay in contention for qualification for the quarter finals in both competitions. Arklow won 3-2 in Under Thirteen and 4-3 in Under Seventeen.
