Two goals from Gary Byrne and one each from Jason Murphy and Paul Murphy saw North End United come from a goal down to overcome Sheriff YC 4-1 in Curracloe. Although Sheriff sent down most of their Premier B side, they are still a very accomplished outfit and did cause John Godkins side some issues when ahead but North End used all their

experience to eventually book their place in the third round.

The draw for this round will be made in coming weeks and its the round where the top Intermediate sides such as Crumlin and Bluebell join the competition and a win in that round would see a possible lucrative tie with a League of Ireland club. North End last reached this stage of the competition three years ago where they handed a dream tie at home to Wexford Youths where they eventually lost on penalties after a 2-2 draw
