Shelburne pip Bree in thrilling play-off game

Schoolgirls League Round-Up

Shelburne lifted the Under Fourteen Division Two A trophy last Monday after they overcame Bree 2-1 in the divisional play-off. A well taken Caitlin Gaffney gave Shelburne the lead after ten minutes and just before half time Abbie Jordan scored to put them 2-0 ahead. Bree were much better in the second half and set up a grandstand finish when Geraldine Buckley got on the end of an Abbie Doyle pass to shoot the ball to the net but as hard as they battled for the equaliser, Shelburne defended strongly and held on to lift the title. League Secretary Martin Cahill was on hand to present the trophy to the victorious captain.
